Pen & Pencil......- (Amit Saini)

( A view on 25% reservation for kids from economically weaker section of our society in Schools)
I often try to steal pen my friend has,
It writes smooth, it writes neat,
There’s no need to sharpen it,
Just change the refill, it will do,
Much better than my pencil,
It’s weak, can’t stand long,
Its sharpness decreases manifold,
Cheap, but slow,
Useless in the world of adults,
For there is always pen in their hand,
My friend has started early,
He will win the race, surely,
He gets good marks, thus praises,
His white shirt,
Shining black shoes,
And neatly combed hair,
Make him hero of the class,
I have a yellow shirt called white,
My marks also don’t prove me bright,
It’s not like, I don’t love studies,
But there are, at home other duties,
Mom is ill,
Dad works late,
In a factory far from our place,
There ain’t time to study,
Though I love writing,
Playing with words,
But this pencil irritates me,
Wish I could write in a flow,
Without bounding my ideas,
And then losing them
In sharpening intervals,
I think, I should steal that pen,
My friend has, which I can’t afford,
No eraser works on its mistakes,
Still, tempting, pen is,
Stealing is a crime they say,
Wish they could give me that pen,
I think, I should steal that pen,

Make a Sun On Your Forehead

Make a sun on your forehead,

and walk on the beach evaporating an ocean,

Make your prescence felt,

take such long strides,

climb such heights,

Let a new fruit ripe,

whose fragrance fills land and sky,

and flavour feeds love,

spread, far and wide,

Make a sun on your forehead,

and envelope the droplets of darkness,

which from world, hide,

blessings of heaven,

radiate such light,

shine so bright,
